Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026
This policy covers the Kestrel application and the website kestrelmedia.app, operated by Ivan Chabanenko (chbnk), see Impressum. Contact: kestrel.shorts.now@gmail.com.
Who uses the app
Kestrel is an internal tool. Only the operator signs in with Google, to manage the operator's own YouTube channels. The app does not collect data from viewers or other members of the public.
Google user data the app accesses
- YouTube upload (
youtube.upload): to upload videos, titles, descriptions and tags to the operator's channels. - YouTube read (
youtube.readonly): to read the operator's channel and video metadata and public statistics (views, likes, comments counts) to measure performance. - YouTube manage (
youtube.force-ssl): to update the operator's channel description, keywords and banner.
How the data is used, stored and shared
OAuth tokens and statistics are stored only on the operator's own computer, in local files that are not synced to any cloud service. They are used solely to publish videos and to analyse the performance of the operator's channels. The data is not sold, not shared with third parties, not used for advertising and not used to train generalised AI or machine-learning models.
Kestrel's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
YouTube
Kestrel uses YouTube API Services. By using it you are also bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Retention and revocation
Statistics are kept as long as the channels are operated; tokens until access is revoked. Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions; local data is then deleted within 7 days.
This website
kestrelmedia.app is a static site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The hosting server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, requested page) for up to 14 days for security, based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your data, object to processing, and complain to a supervisory authority. Write to the contact address above.
